So the revised command structure for 2003 will be as follows:-

  • Captain Andy Shaw
  • First Sergeant Mike Bussey
  • Corporal Nick Dawson

June 2002

Corporal Graeme Murgatroyd announced that he wishes to step down from the position of Corporal and hand over to a fresher face. Graeme will continue in the role until a replacement is found and he will continue as company clerk. The Company is looking for candidates to fill the vacant position. So far Graham Beattie, Robert Evans, Adam Knight, Gareth Knight and Tom Wheeley have expressed their interest in the position.

March 2002
Following the latest meeting of the Confederate Officers and Senior NCO's, Sergeant Mike Bussey has been promoted to First Sergeant, of the First Company, consisting of the 1st Tennessee and the 18th Virginia.

So the revised command structure for 2002 will be as follows:-

  • Captain Andy Shaw
  • First Sergeant Mike Bussey
  • Corporal Graeme Murgatroyd
  • Corporal Nick Dawson

Click here to see the full list of members of the 1st Tennessee.

February 2002
Following a meeting of the Confederate Officers and Senior NCO's, 2nd Lieutenant Andy Shaw has been promoted to Captain, in charge of the First Company, consisting of the 1st Tennessee and the 18th Virginia.

So the revised command structure for 2002 will be as follows:-

  • Captain Andy Shaw
  • Sergeant Mike Bussey
  • Corporal Graeme Murgatroyd

September 2000
The Regiment's commanding officer for more than ten years, First Lieutenant J. D. Spencer, has decided to resign his commission, and Kirby Hall was his last battle in charge. The regiment presented him with a couple of bottles of J. D. as a small token of their appreciation. A more permanent tribute will be presented at the end of the year. J. D. will continue as an active member of the regiment as a private in the ranks, whenever his other committments allow.

First Sergeant Andy Shaw will take over command of the regiment, as he has so nobly done during J. D.'s absences this year. Andy will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, in due course. At Kirby Hall, members of the Regiment voted Private Mike Bussey to be the new Sergeant and effectively second-in-command. Mike has previously been regimental (and army) commander and agreed to take on the role for the 2001 season, only because the other officers and NCO's were relatively short of experience in these positions, and it was hoped that Mike would help them through the transitional year without J. D.

So the proposed command structure for 2001 will be as follows:-

  • 2nd Lieutenant Andy Shaw
  • Sergeant Mike Bussey
  • Corporal Graeme Murgatroyd
  • Corporal Nick Dawson
